AllPackS manufactures wooden pallets and packaging, and for its sawmill in Brutus, 3S MEP + Structural was working with a wood-pellet boiler in the HVAC system, well water in the plumbing designs, and heavy machinery in the electrical layout.
The boiler was paired with a hydronic unit to heat the entire warehouse. The office was served with a multi-split system.
The mechanical team designed the PEX pipe for the hydronic heater and selected a recirculating pump for the boiler.
The water supply system was designed with a submersible pump and a pressure tank supplying water for the cold-hot water system.
The sanitary waste system was engineered according to the Michigan Plumbing Code and connected to the city mains.
Electrical designs for the power and lighting systems had to consider the loads created by heavy manufacturing machinery. The system was designed to meet NFPA 70 standards.
With all 3S MEP projects, a primary focus is integrating MEP and structural designs with the construction and architectural partners and the end-users to minimize the need for design adjustments or revisions during the construction process. Design teams from 3S MEP actively engage with all stakeholders to identify potential conflicts and optimize overall system layout. Our teams are exceptionally proficient at harmonizing essential building elements for successful outcomes.
