Design services from 3S MEP + Structural were provided for the living spaces and an office in a two-story residence in Sullivan County, New York. They included Manual J, D and S calculations.

A residential heat load calculation was conducted and, based on the results, 3S MEP designed duct systems that efficiently distribute conditioned air throughout the building. Ceiling and outdoor units were selected to ensure comfort and energy efficiency.

To enhance indoor air quality, an energy recovery ventilation system uses exhaust air to treat and precondition incoming outdoor ventilation air. This design provides a comfortable and healthy environment.

The plumbing design included the the sanitary waste and the cold/hot water systems. The plumbing team evaluated usage patterns and fixture requirements to determine the appropriate size of the water heater.

The electrical design team created a lighting and power layout that enhances functionality and aesthetics. Load calculations determined the electrical demand and ensured that the electrical system had the capacity met the requirements of the house and its residents. A REScheck verified compliance with energy codes and ensured optimal energy efficiency.

With all 3S MEP projects, a primary focus is integrating MEP and structural designs with the construction and architectural partners and the end-users to minimize the need for design adjustments or revisions during the construction process.
