3S MEP provided comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design services, including Manual J, D, and S calculation reports, for a two-story house located in Sullivan County, New York. The 1,750-square-foot building consisted of living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, a kitchen, and an office.

3S MEP conducted a residential heat load calculation to determine the heating and cooling requirements of the two-story house. Based on the calculations, the team designed the duct systems to efficiently distribute conditioned air throughout the building. For meeting the heating and cooling demands, 3S MEP selected ceiling-concealed units and outdoor units, ensuring comfort and energy efficiency. To enhance indoor air quality, an energy recovery ventilation (ERV) system was utilized, which treated and preconditioned the incoming outdoor ventilation air using the exhaust air. The careful consideration of these mechanical design elements will provide a comfortable and healthy environment for the occupants.

The plumbing design for the house included the precise and deliberate design of the sanitary waste system and the domestic cold/hot water system to provide a reliable and consistent hot water supply throughout the house.  Water heater sizing was carefully determined to meet the hot water demands of the residents, considering factors such as usage patterns and fixture requirements.

The electrical design team provided comprehensive electrical design services for the two-story house. They created a lighting and power layout that enhanced functionality and aesthetics. Load calculations were performed to determine the electrical demand and ensure the electrical system’s capacity met the requirements of the house. A RESCheck was performed to verify compliance with energy codes and ensure optimal energy efficiency.
