Alpharetta’s Happy Dog Hotel was created by converting an existing building. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing designs were provided by 3S MEP + Structural to make a range of improvements and modifications required by the building’s new function.
The project required replacing ductwork with existing mechanical equipment while meeting code standards and complying with regulations of local jurisdictions. We achieved this objective by utilizing the HAP 5.11 and COMcheck software.
Electrical design included a comprehensive lighting layout, which integrated existing lighting with and new fixtures and new control systems in order to meet International Energy Conservation Codes and the National Electrical Code.
A power layout was designed to meet the electrical needs of individual spaces. The team developed an SLD to map the electrical connections and the distribution system.
The 3S MEP plumbing team was responsible for designing the water supply and sanitary waste systems. The team ensured that the plumbing systems were efficient, reliable, and compliant with relevant codes and regulations.
The 3S MEP team also developed a diagram of the gas piping to ensure safe and sufficient distribution to each gas appliance in the building.
With all 3S MEP projects, a primary focus is integrating MEP and structural designs with the construction and architectural partners and the end-users to minimize the need for design adjustments or revisions during the construction process. Design teams from 3S MEP actively engage with all stakeholders to identify potential conflicts and optimize overall system layout. Our teams are exceptionally proficient at harmonizing essential building elements for successful outcomes.
