3S takes transforms a large empty space to retail use for an Ollie’s

Ollie’s, a retailer of many types of remaindered products and goods from bankruptcies, was opening an outlet of an empty 26,000 square feet of space in an existing multiuse building. The project for 3S MEP + Structural was to design HVAC, electrical and mechanical, and plumbing systems.

Designs had to meet the needs of retail spaces and provide comfortable conditions for a better shopping experience. With HAP modeling software, 3S created a power system with performance-based energy compliance and designed a high-performance HVAC system.

For the electrical design, 3S MEP created layouts for lighting, power, and fire alarms. The plumbing team was responsible for designing the domestic water, sanitary waste, and stormwater systems.

With all 3S MEP projects, a primary focus is integrating MEP and structural designs with the construction and architectural partners and the end-users to minimize the need for design adjustments or revisions during the construction process. Design teams from 3S MEP actively engage with all stakeholders to identify potential conflicts and optimize overall system layout.
