Designing the MEP for a restaurant in a New Jersey mall

For a restaurant in the Edison, New Jersey, Menlo Park Mall, 3S MEP + Structural provided engineering designs for the kitchens and for the electrical and plumbing throughout the facility.

The kitchen had to meet New Jersey mechanical code (IMC-2018, with amendment).

Mechanical requirements included a calculation of the heat load in designing the makeup air and kitchen exhaust systems as well as sizing and selecting the rooftop unit. Our design team coordinated throughout with the kitchen consultant.

Electrical support included lighting, power and fire alarm design and  layout, lighting fixture selection, and design panel schedules. Plumbing design included systems for domestic water distribution, sanitation, and grease disposal.

With all 3S MEP projects, a primary focus is integrating MEP and structural designs with the construction and architectural partners and the end-users to minimize the need for design adjustments or revisions during the construction process. Design teams from 3S MEP actively engage with all stakeholders to identify potential conflicts and optimize overall system layout. Our teams are exceptionally proficient at harmonizing essential building elements for successful outcomes.
